CAST's New Publication Series--Ag quickCAST

April 26, 2013

CAST has three questions for you:
•    Are you interested in agricultural information but swamped with e-mails and printed publications?
•    Do you have time to read a message in 2 minutes, but not in 20?
•    Is it important to you to have a reliable source of ag-science information that's available 24/7?

CAST has one answer:
•    You need to know about the newest publication series from the Council for Agricultural Science and Technology--Ag quickCAST.

Each one-page Ag quickCAST contains excerpted material from its companion CAST document in an easy-to-read format consisting of topic sentences and bulleted lists. Each document identifies experts to contact for more information and provides a link to the full publication.

To introduce the new series, CAST has created Ag quickCASTs for three previously published documents; in the future, an Ag quickCAST will accompany each new CAST publication release. Visit the Publications section of this website and check back often to see more Ag quickCASTs as they're added.

The current list includes:
•    Assessing the Health of Streams in Agricultural Landscapes: The Impacts of Land Management Change on Water Quality
•    Food, Fuel, and Plant Nutrient Use in the Future
•    The Direct Relationship between Animal Health and Food Safety Outcomes

This new publication series adds a fresh dimension to the list of CAST offerings, which includes CAST Commentaries, Issue Papers, Special Publications, and Task Force Reports. The layout of each Ag quickCAST fills a need for communicating credible scientific information in a concise manner. Ag quickCASTs are available free on the CAST website as PDFs; they may also be printed for use as handouts to share with colleagues or classmates.
