Welcome to CAST, Charlotte!

Charlotte Brockman recently joined CAST as the Communications Project Coordinator. She is interested in learning more about utilizing many media channels to effectively communicate about agriculture and science.

Charlotte was raised in Gooding, Idaho, in South Central Idaho. Growing up she was surrounded by a diverse agriculture system, which provided for experiences in the beef, dairy, and sheep industries. Charlotte was also active in 4-H and FFA, where she served in many leadership positions and gained work experience in seasonal farm work and a custom butcher shop. Charlotte also served as an FCCLA state officer for three years in high school, where she gained many valuable leadership and communication skills.

Charlotte currently attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is studying Agronomy, with minors in Agricultural Communication and International Relations. She has previous experience writing for Nebraska Farmer and working for the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. She is also involved in the Collegiate Farm Bureau and the UNL Soil Judging Team. Her hobbies include shooting sports and knitting. Charlotte is excited to join the CAST team and grow her skills as a communicator to better represent agriculture in the future.
